I should have written:
The city fell under Romanian rule in 1918 when, following the outcomes of
WWI, the Austro-Hungarian Empire ceased to exist. Then it underwent a major
change as a result of the Soviet takeover in 1940, just before WWII, and has
been following a path of a sporadic socio-economic decline ever since.
What do you think about this description of "Cz history in a nutshell"?
