RE: [Cz-L] Christian's travels

Hi Hardy...what impresses me is that he found,amongst areas of neglect and
desolation, functioning Jewish communities,Rabbis and all. Also evidence
that some of the cemeteries were being kept up..and using grazing animals is
an effective way! For a Jewish hotel to flourish there must be at least a
modicum of Jewish guests. How many rooms,how many stars...irrelevant...what
is interesting is from where the visitors come!!The finding of new Karaite
graves implies that some of that ancient community is still there. Just for
interest..in many areas the Germans left "Die Karaiten" untouched,seemingly
regarding them as not Jews. As Christian &co travelled on there were
Holocaust and Ghetto memorials found...put up by????? So yes,bits totally
depressing,but also bits that made me sit up and take note. Cornel
