[Please post in Plain Text --thanks]

Shalom Mimi,

Yedinetz, Edineti, is today part of the Moldava Republic.
But once upon a time it was part of the Russian Empire
and that area was called Bessarabia.

Before that it was part of the Ottoman Turkish Empire,
and then all that area, the northern part of Bessarabia,
(most of it today is part of the Ukraninian Republic)
was part of Turkish Bukovina.

Quite confusing, but all the people specially the Jews
despite the fact that they were all under Russian rule
and not Austrian Hungarian, called themselves,
Bukoviner Bessarabian Yidden.

All the Jews of this area despite the fact that they
were Bessarabian, spoke Yiddish with a distinctive
Bukovinian accent, "Momeh, Toteh, etc."

So Mimi is 100 per cent correct about Yedinetz
Jews speaking yiddish with a Bukovinian accent.
