Yes, dear Hedwig, I think Paul Celan agreed to the recording, but this happened in 1958; a decade later, at the end of the sixties, when "Todesfuge" rose in the meantime to the position of "THE POEM OF THE 20TH CENTURY", being used - and sometimes misused - for a countless number of school-books and anthologies, Celan tried to restrict the publication and ceased reciting it in public.
