Dear all,
Hardy drew our attention to a photo that shows a wall of irregular shaped stones a few weeks ago. Hardy wrote that the wall consists of grave stones of the old Jewish cemetery of Czernowitz. Hardy was right. Mykola Kushnir - the director of the Jewish Museum of Czernowitz - confirmed this on my request.
It was said that the old cemetery had been destroyed in the Soviet period. This is true as well. However, the remains of this cemetery still exist. They need to be examined and protected.
