Czernowitzers, Dear Bruce,
Thank you so much for your update on the 33rd IAJGS in Boston and please find on this occasion a small thank-you gift to you (and all our Bukovinians) the "Czernowitz Imperial-Royal I. State Gymnasium" Graduates 1850 - 1913

This listing is brand new, transcribed and compiled by us on the basis of the:
• graduates overall listing, published at the gymnasium annual report for the year 1909
• gymnasium annual reports - as far as available - for the years 1850 - 1913
There were similar listings before, compiled by Peter Elbau and published at his website, but our new and extended version goes far beyond that. You'll find - in alphabetical order - 3,011 datasets (= graduates), displaying in the main listing
• graduation year
• surname
• forename
• age (at graduation)
• career aspiration / professional practice (as per 1910)
• status (as per 1910)
and - MOST IMPORTANT AND AS FAR AS AVAILABLE - a hyperlink (CHECK IT OUT!) to the respective annual report listing, displaying the name of the particular graduate and most comprehensive details, such as
• homeland (!!!) and birthplace (!!!)
• confession
• examination performance
• career aspiration (at graduation)
At the above mentioned websites you'll discover and be able to download additional "bonus material", such as
1850-1908: Annual Report 1909 and Graduates in Chronological Order (Overall Listing)
1808-1908: Festschrift to the Centennial Celebration of the State Gymnasium (German)
29.10.1908: Czernowitzer Allgemeine Zeitung Report on the Centennial Celebration (P.1-3)
29.10.1908: Bukowinaer Post Report on the Centennial Celebration (P.3-4)
Check the school achievements of your ancestors and look for new genealogical hits. I do hope you'll like it. Warmest wishes to all of you!
