Tav Kuf Nun Tet - as is clearer now - is 1798-1799. So just about when my grandfather's grandfather was born.

Luckily we have been able to trace our Czernowitzer family back to that period (thanks to research performed when several family members of our grandfathers' generation still lived and remembered). We have been able to trace the entire family tree - that luckily survived the Shoa - thanks to the migration of one third of my grandfather's generation to the US and two thirds to Palestine in the twenties of the former century, to create a thriving tribe of some 500 or more.
