        The Carinthia restaurant is in the Deutsches Haus (German House)
   There are no Germans now in Czernowitz.
        The Jews also had a house - the Judische Kultusgemeinde on the
Theatre Square.
  ( Kultus for cult -religious group)
      But no longer - they call it Palatz Kultury - Culture palace.

This past Tuesday we had dinner at the Corinthian on the Herrengasse with
Mimi. She shared her memories and knowledge with my childhood friends from
Curaçao (one of whom made his first visit to Snyatin) and a Dutch film crew
that came with me to visit the sites of my father's childhood in Bukovina.
Thank you Mimi for providing additional context for our visit.

For those who are planning a visit soon I also recommend the eponymous
restaurant Slava, whose owner is a superb hostess, next to the KGB building.
The food at the Carinthia was excellent, while Knaus was closed for
restoration.
