Leibu Levin was very popular during the 1940-1941 Soviet occupation in
Czernowitz. I attended several of his recitals and enjoyed very much his
performances at the former "Scala" cinema hall. I met Ruth Levin on several
occasions and attended some of her concerts.

[W]riting about Selma Merbaum my attention was drawn to Ruth Levin,
daughter of Leibu Levin who translated five of Selma Merbaum's poems into
Jiddish. Ruth is an excellent interpreter of the songs/poems her
father composed.
