Hi Shula,

It is not just hands, but hands in which the fingers are held so that
there is a space between the middle finger and the fourth finger.
Most people cannot hold their fingers like this, but Kohanim can.
Since they are supposedly all of them, the male descendants of Aaron,
the brother of Moses, and as has been found, all cary a particular
marker
on the Y chromosome, except for doing DNA analysis, the hands held
like this, are a sign of belonging to the Kohanim.
