Hi, Cornel - was there any fighting in Czernowitz? The map indicates the line started just north of Cz and then toward Lemberg and all the way up past Vilna. My mother, in Cz., would have been 9 years old at the time. My dad, in the Austrian-Hungarian army (whom she didn't know, of course, at the time) was taken prisoner by the Russians but I don't know if it was during that offensive or at another time. The Russians took 200,000 prisoners in that offensive. Andy.
