Hi Miki! It would be wonderful if you still had the note sent from
Bosnia..it would identify the sub-unit of the 41st! However....some of that
Regiment served on the Italian Front and it may well be that your relative
was on the way there via Bosnia,so whatever happened to him would have been
in that region and not in the East. Cornel

Eugen Nr. 41"
Good afternoon,
Edgar Hauster kindly cc you in his reply to my question below.
In short, we are keen to find out what happened to my great grandfather
Elias Kostiuk who served, we think, as a Corporal in the Infanterieregiment
Erzherzog Eugen 41. Last my great grandmother heard from him was in 1915
when he sent a note to her in Bosnia. This is where I got the details about
the regiment. He never returned and she never heard about what happened to
him. We assume he perished as so many men did on the eastern front.
We would be very grateful if you could assist us with information that may
get us closer to finding out what happened to him and if he died, where he
may have been buried.
Thanking you in advance.
Regards,
Mirela Matthews

But in this particular case, among our fellow members, there is Dr. Cornel
Fleming from London, who knows - nearly - everything about the infantry
regiment and WW1. Please address directly to Cornel (see Cc) and in case
both of you, you would like to share your findings with all of us, please
come back to me.
