[Cz-L] The Name

The name of Czernowitz:
 A combination of Polish and German spelling.
  Were it German it would be Tschernowitz (you may find it on Habsburg
documents).
  Were it Polish it would be Czerniowce as becoming for a Galizian town,
   But Czernowitz is a bit of this and a bit of that.
    A yiddishe Strudel of a name .
     That is the jewish imprint to stay so forever.
       Because we liked it better....
