Maybe it's just to brag about the intelligence and resourcefulness of those who grew up with different foreign
leaders. Not everyone tries to adapt. Look at immigrants to America. Some tried and excelled; others didn't bother. But our relatives adapted and excelled, regardless of who held their country or where they were.
