To each his own.
  Not movies , I speak of the houses ,the streets,
   Roofs ? I was on many roofs too.
   On my streets the roofs where sheet metal.
    If they were red they were rusty and dangerous to step on.
      Yes there were some villas with red tiles like the Residenz.
     The movie you speak of must be "The thief of Bagdad".
