Hi Cornel,
Did you know that on the famous German "Romantische Strasse" (Romantic
street), where is situated also the romantic old town Rotenburg ob der
Taube,) exist a small town Schopfloch with many Jewish people before Hitler
. from the Middle age, and with a big Jewish cimetary .In the Midle Age also
the Germans there spoke German dialect, mixesd with Yiddish words...There is
a library, where you can find a dictionary with the dialect spoken once upon
the time. There lives an old lady, I forgot her name, who take care of the
Jewish cimetaries of the region and for that she was awarded with 5000 $ by
an American, born in this region. My friend Christel Wollmann-Fiedler was
there and took an interview with this german woman..
Regards Hedwig

Absolutely right! Muenchen is no problem but my Romanian never got far
beyond "Dute la Dracu"! Cornel

German pronunciation:
The "ch" and the Umlaute if not acquired at a very early age can never be
taught.
I believe it has something to do with the development of the larynx.
Ask a German to pronounce" Muenchen " and try imitate him.
This is the real Czernowitzer test .
The Czernowitzer got it ! If he is of the Habsburg stock.
But his Rumanian was an abomination…
