I agree to all said about the picture except its title, the rails can be
seen on it and in 1917 the trams were already some years old. But more then
probable the trams owned by the electric company did not function most of
the time during WWI.
About the other picture Hardy, with the exchange on it, a possible answer
to your question is that on Rathausstrasse at that time and may be also
later there was only one line and they had to use it in both directions. At
acertain cost of time of course.
May be Hedwig remembers something like that?
