"Privatisten" were - in Austria - students, who took the examinations without taking classes, f. i. due to home education.

Please let me remind all of you, that I've released listings of graduates of the "k.k. Staats-Ober-Gymnasium" of Radautz, to be downloaded as Excel files at

covering school year, name, year of birth, place of birth, course for in total 9,141 students. Among them you are going to discover three Terner's (Chaim Terner, Isidor Terner and Schmiel Terner).
