Thanks Hardy for the Babes...You will never believe, but when I was young,
once upon the time, and had 2 little boys, we lived in a village in the oil
fields near Ploiesti in southern Romania..the physician came once a week,
When something happens to my children I called a peasant women and she put
also water on hot coals, singing: ochi deochi, piei de unde ai venit..and
"Tatal nostru", Vaterunser....gegen das boese Auge, neged ain ra, ...this in
an medicament against all maladies. and by every tribe. nation, Jews,
Christians, Moslems...and it works..
Regards
Hedwig

Here, in front of my house a Fiaker ran me over. I was 6 or something,
I came under the horses.
They got me out and brought be home ,put me in bed , covered me
with eiderdowns and called the Babe.
The Babe consulted the other Babes and decided that I am under the
horses spell and had to be extricated.
First came a procedure called the" Giessen in Wax"
Wax was heated until liquid and poured into a pail of cold water.
It solidifies and the Babes could clearly see the horses which were
thus rendered inoffensive.
Then came upsprechen in Koilen : Red hot coals were brought in and
water was poured on them emanating a lot of steam.
Then came the witchcraft: they started chanting:
"Drei Babes sitzen of a Stein - eine sugt yo, eine sugt nein,
Die dritte sugt fun vi se is gekimmen ahin soll es gein"
After this treatment I got well in no time.
