Hi,
Ziegeleischaffer, probably he was an owner of brickworks, in Czernowitz,
very near to the cimetaries, were many such owens to burn the bricks.
Manesteryska was one of the suburbs of Czernowitz, like Rosh, Klokuczka,
Kalczanka and these small vilages had no street numbers, only house numbers.
I know it because my grand/grandparents lived in Klokuczka, the house number
69.
Have a nice week

Subject: [Cz-L] Translation
Hello Czernowitzers,
Looking at the 1909 city directory, on line 2819, I find a Moses DORF, who
may be a relative.
His profession is listed as "Ziegeleischaffer". Can anyone translate this?
Also, the area he lived in was "Manasteryska". Does anyone know where this
would be?
Last question: They have a house number, but no street. Should I assume this
is a transcriber's mistake?
Thank you
