Apologies for forgetting “plain text”! This is what I wanted to say:

It has suddenly struck me that the “Rusyns” are presumably the people
referred to as “Ruthenians” in Czernowitz.

Some slight caveats. The 'Bulgarians' are actually Gagauz, who are quite a
colourful Orthodox Christian people also found in Bulgaria but NOT coming
from there, who nevertheless speak a Turkic language about as closely
related to Turkish-of-Turkey as is Azerbaijani (i.e. about as close as
Ukrainian is to Russian or Czech is to Polish, but much more different than
Czech and Slovak or Ukrainian and Belarusian). The Transcarpathian Rusyns
have quite a strong ethnic identity, but what they speak is almost identical
to the middle of the 3 Ukrainian dialects of the high Carpathians just to
the north: Lemko (extends into Poland and Slovakia), Boiko (that most
similar one), and Hutzul (nearest to Cz). Many of the 'ethnic Russians'
constituting a majority in Crimea will now be returned Crimean Tatars, many
of whom have lost (in favour of Russian) their Turkic language - and this
wasn't a single entity, but a range from another closely Turkish-like
dialect to another closer to the languages of the Caucasian Karachai and
Balkar peoples.
