Shalom,

Allow me to disagree with my very long term friend and Moderator Bruce.

This topic is not a stray off-topic. History, Genealogy, etc., is
like flowing river,
no end to it (our research). Napoleon once said that a nation that
doesn't look into its past will not have a (present) and future.

We as family researchers tend to get lost in the past, forgetting that
there is a
(changing) present and future.

The Shteitel of my paternal ancestors, Klishkovitz in Bessarabia,
Russian Empire,
the Jews of that area called that part of northern Bessarabia,
Bukovina, I recently discovered the reason, before Bukovina and
Bessarabia were split by the Russian and Austria Hungarian Empires,
northern Bessarabia was part of Bukovina.

Once the overwhelming majority of residents in Klishkovitz were Jews
ltoday there are no Jews there only those buried in two Jewish
cemeteries there.

Today nearly 50 percent of the population of over 5,000 people of Klishkovtsy
(the Ukrainian spelling of the yiddish Klishkovitz) are Seventh Day Adventists,
I believe that these are the Christian Messianic movement that are not
out to convert Jews that Marsha Spellman talked about.

If this is so, Bruce, then this is "on-topic," a full disclosure here
concerning my
"flowing river," theory. I am trying but yet without success, to get
these local Seventh Day Adventists to "adopt," and upkeep, the two
"orphan" Jewish
cemeteries of Klishkovitz.

Bruce if we ban such topics, we will never know of the existence of
these "friends and foes," and how we as family researchers and
genealogist can watch out or become friendly with some that can assist
us in our present day and future research.

I hope I have not been long winded, and managed to make my point,
despite the fact that English is not my native tongue,

[Moderator's note: We're beginning to stray off-topic. Please relate
further posts to Jewish Bukovina / History / Genealogy. Thank you
from your moderators. (Bruce).
