Shula -

That was a beautiful piece you wrote. Unlike you, I have never had children but have had the same burning desire to search as you. I was very fortunate to have had 3 grandparents for a long time. I even tape recorded my grandmother speaking about meeting my grandfather in Kolomea and coming to America, and the like. When they were alive, I didn't know all the questions to ask so now I have to look the hard way. I knew of my grandmother and grandfathers parents and siblings but not of their aunts and uncles.

May I make a suggestion to all of you. Don't forget to write down your current history for your children now. You know the questions. Ask your parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins now what they remember and record this for your child. Give him your history story now while you remember the questions they will want answered. Just like the survivors did.

Dear all and Hardy in particular,

I forgot that I needed to raise my hand...

Here's a link to my recent piece in the Jewish Independent
about why I search for my lost Czernowitzer relatives:

I hope it rings true for you and thank you for being part of
 my search.

 Warm regards to all,
