This is the closest I could get to the Aron Pumnul's past of my
father. However, as he was only 13 years old at the time, he could not
have been among the class 6.
Nevertheless, the photos bring me a step closer to patching up a
picture of life in Cz before the Russians and before the war. My
grandmother Frida used to say that I was lucky to be born after the
war and (unlike her) was spared of comparing the bleak reality of the
communist era Cz to how it used to be.
Still not loosing hope that one day a pre-war photo of the Kraft
family (including my grandfather Max whom I never met) will magically
appear.
