My Maternal Grandfather, Lui (Louis) Kriegsmann, was born in Toporowitz, Roumania in 1883. His 1924 Declaration of Intention (to become a U.S.
citizen) includes a statement that says "it is my bonafide intention to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to Ferdinand I, King of Rumania". My maternal grandfather's second wife (the1st had passed), Minnie Wechsler, was born in Storoznitz, Roumania in 1892 and her 1936 Petition for Naturalization states in part "it is my intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce absolutely and forever all allegiance and fidelity to Carol II, King of Rumania.

Note the two different Kings, Ferdinand I in 1924 and Carol II in 1936.
