P.S. For those who are not here: the Independence Day Ceremony was opened by Yuri Edelstein (born in Czernowitz in 1958), the Chairman of the Knesset, with a moving speech that was highly ovated (was presented as a Czernowitzer), and among the 12 women of outstanding performance and achievements that lit the 12 torches was Miriam Zohar, the lady of the Israeli Theater, another Czernowitzer who survived Transnistria. Well, we have our imprint on this day here.
