Subject: Cz-L] Very good news

Dear friends,

Today I received a letter from an official of the city of Vienna, in which
he notified me
that the city authorities have agreed to have six hectares of the Czernowitz
Jewish cemetery
cleared of trees, bushes and vines. The purpose of this project is to
preserve the cemetery
as a cultural historical site, both for the local inhabitants and for the
tourists who visit the cemetery.
This work to be done this summer and to be paid for by the city of Vienna.

Here a copy of the letter:

> Ich möchte Ihnen berichten, dass die Stadt Wien nun dem Verein Confinis
> zugesagt hat,
> dass Projekt zur Freilegung des jüdischen Friedhofs zu starten.
