Hardy and all Czernowitzers,

Please excuse me for only replying to Hardy's Email of May 17th only
now.

Actually the size of the Czernowitz Jewish cemetery
is slightly less than 12 hectares.
At one time or another about 5 hectares of the cemetery
have been cleared of trees, bushes and vines.
But because the cleared areas were mostly not treated with herbicides
new shoots grew from the stumps of the trees and bushes
and these area need to be cleared again.
