Christian dear,
Your "Vanished World" never really vanishes as long as there are people
like you who, with so much feeling and understanding keep it alive.
Tombstones are a symbol, a memory of those we've lost but those who wanted
to destroy every memory of our existence used them for their needs. If
stones were needed for building streets then what cheaper material then
"useless stones" of those one wanted to erase the memory of their ever
having "been". The Jews burned alive in Poland/France and most occupied
countries are certainly the foundations of many house and new streets in
most East European countries.
Would or could anyone believe that but 70 odd years after the horrors of
WWII anti-Semitism will have such a revival?? I don't think the leaders of
the "free World" were aware of the cancer growing in their midst they
thought as we did, long ago, "this can't ever happen here! Und siehe da
Themoteus die Kraniche des Ybycus" it happens everywhere.
Our thoughts go to our city and the hard work everyone has put in to give
it shape and life, what now??

Thank you Christian and thank you Hardy. anny
