Just to strengthen this statement by Berti I suggest that group members here get hold of the quite lengthy analytical article by Prof. Shlomo Avineri of the HU: The War that Determined the Face of the 20th Century", published on p 29 of yesterday's Haaretz. I am not sure that it was published in the English on-line version of Haaretz.
