About Hesed Shushana in general:
It is not an old-age home or an extended care facility.
It is more in the nature of a club house for elderly Jewish people,
who live in Chernivtsi. As long as Dr. Bursuk was alive, he made sure
that nobody went hungry, all ill people were given medical care
and held general meetings at least twice a week.

I do not know what the situation is currently. I have met Mr. Fucks,
but only briefly,
and cannot judge what kind of person he is. I do not have his Email
address.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Glisenstein is the best person to contact
regarding
Hesed Shushana and the welfare of members of the Jewish community.
Since his moving to Chernivtsi he has had a synagogue restored in which
religious services are held regularly. He has also established a day
care center
for Jewish children which includes an after school club for the older
children.

He speaks Hebrew, Ukrainian and some English.

Even though medical care is free in the Ukraine, I believe that home-
care
is not included in the services provided by the state for either Jews
or Ukrainians.
Serah, If your aunt has no relatives in Chernivtsi to care for her,I
would advise you
to go to Chernivtsi and pay someone to care for her. Public
organizations cannot
be depended on, to provide for the old and lonely.
