One more addition to the "lokshentop": Usually this word was used
in conjunction with "Yachneh Sossyeh", such as:
"Yachneh Sossyeh mit dem Lokshentop"
Literal translation: Yachneh Sossyeh with the of Lokshen.
Actual meaning: A silly, tale-telling woman with her worthless pot or
more explicitly:
A silly worthless remark or matter.

For an expression denoting total lack of value, I found in my
grandfather's memoirs,
the term, here translated into English: "the water in which the
lokshen had been cooked".
