[We are starting to drift here into Israeli/Palestinian politics and away from the
intended scope of our List's discussions. Can we re-focus a bit? Thanks for your
understanding --your moderators: Bruce & Jerome]

I AM DEEPLY HURT BY THE LOSS OF GUY AND SO MANY -TOO MANY- YOUNG MEN, DIED
IN VAIN IN MY OPINION, LIKE THE MORE THAN THOUSANDS KILLED IN THE FIRST
LEBANON WAR ,. FIVE THOUSAND IN 1973 AND SO ON, BECAUSE WE DID NOT
EARNESTLY TRY TO MAKE PEACE WITH THE PALESTINIANS , ESPECIALLY AFTER
SADATH'S VISIT IN JERUSALEM, AND HIS MOTTO "NO MORE WARS." BY ACCEPTANCE OF
1976 BORDERS, NAMELY TO HAVE AN AGREEMENT GIVING US 78% OF THE AREA OF THE
FORMER PALESTINE.
I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT ONE DAY, HOPEFULLY SOON, SOUND PRACTICAL SENSE WILL
PREVAIL, AND WE SHALL REACH AN UNDERSTANDING WITH OUR NEIGHBOURS, LIKE THE
European COUNTRIES OF THE European UNION; IF FRANCE AND GERMANY CAN BE
FRIENDS, AFTHER CENTURIES OF WARS, AND THE HATE, I SAW AFTER THE LAST WAR
(1946-7), EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE
