Cyril Leonoff is at 604-263-2253. This is in Vancouver, BC. His mother
was a Brotman. He has a daughter, Anita, who lives next door. He is hard
of hearing, but I don't have an email address for him. But he is a wealth
of historical information about the Jews of Western Canada, especially
Vancouver. He knows all about the Brotman's of Canada. He is an historian
and a couple of years ago, wrote a book about the Jews of Vancouver. His
first cousin, Eleanor Brotman Haas, was my mother in law.

<html><head></head><body><div style="font-family: Verdana;font-size:
12.0px;"><div> <div>Just to say that Matti Hallachmi (born Brautmann, and
the grandson of Adolf Brautmann and Rosa n&eacute;e Karp mentioned in this
thread) is in fact retired and lives in the South of Israel. I&#39;m married
to his cousin&#39;s daughter. Adolf Brautmann was a civil servant at the
Czernowitz stock exchange, and about his ancerstors we only know that his
father was a coppersmith.</div>

<div>We once met another Mr Brautman(n) from Czernowitz, about ten years ago
in Tel Aviv, whose father or grandfather had also been called Adolf,
probably a cousin or nephew of the other Adolf Br. (clearly not the same
person, though). He's a Levi, while we don't know about
"ours"

I also met a Broitman family from rather neighbouring Bessarabia
(Cohanitic, to make things more difficult).</div>

If anyone can shed light on that, please let me know.
