One in particular aroused my curiosity.
It is the announcement of the death of Herzl by Poale Zion.
The announcement is from July 1904.
In my family it was believed that the Poale Zion branch in Czernowitz
was founded by my maternal grandfather, Saul Leib Steinmetz.
In 1904 my grandfather was only 25 years old, could it be
that at such a young age, he would have been the one to found
a branch of a relatively important Zionist organization in Czernowitz?
Does anyone have reliable information on the founding of Poalei Zion
in Czernowitz?
