Dear list members,

I am writing to you in the hope of being able to help a friend who has recently completed a PhD in Holocaust Studies, not related to Czernowitz but Bucharest photos, just in case someone might have some clues on this. His thesis focused on Romanianization in World War II Bucharest with a special interest in the Romanianization of Jewish properties and employment. Thanks to the archival documents that he accessed, he learned that the normal practice of WW2 Romanianization officials, once they seized a Jewish property, was to have a sign inscribed on it with the LOGO: C.N.R. i.e. Centrul National de Romanizare / the National Center of Romanianization. However, he has not managed to find in the archives any photo of a building showing this logo. So, my question would be: by any chance, has someone from this group found in your family’s albums or just come across any photo of a building from Bucharest during WW2 including such a logo inscribed on it?
If anyone could provide any lead on this, it would be fantastic.

Best regards,
Dana Mihailescu
