Andy
The Russians occupied Cz twice during WW1
In 1940 the Soviets annexed Bucovina North.
  Driven out in 1941.
Came back in 1944 and stayed until end of Soviets Empire 1989 or so.
    So no Russian rule,
A lot of Russians settled there.
Some 20% of populatian of Cz- er speak Russian at home , most Jews do.

TO Hardy re Pretzel pix. But they are not pretzels. They look like
undernourished bagels - a foreign item. And all those Slavic faces!
How long did the Russians have Cz? They must have trucked in their
people from all parts of Siberia. No Romanian faces, no Jewish faces,
no German faces. All Slavs. And I bet most of them would like to
flee, too.
