Old Czernowitz is gone forever,
Kept alive by the failing memories of first- handniks this
Is also coming to an end.
What is left are stories as told to inheritors.
100 stories ,100 versions, facts based on fantasy
Made up stories based on hear- say.
  Fairy tales .
" Once there were Jews who lived on the Prut.
They spoke German because they loved Franz Joseph.
Franz Joseph had a mustache and a bad back and a son named
Rudolf, who killed himself out of love.
This started a world war because Ferdinand his successor was assassinated
Causing a war where millions of Germans ,French ,British died
All not knowing who was Ferdinand.
These were the stories going around in Czernowitz.
Also who paid nocturnal visits to the first floor fair- haired beauty.
