In 1944 my mothers cousin Dolfi returned from Transnistria.
He was asurvivor of the Zimmermanns . He and his brother
who was sent to Sverdlovsk for a few years for labor in the
war industry.
Dolfi was grown up around twenty and stayed with us.
He was a photographer and traded in black market photo film.
One morning he said : Hardy, this morning you come with me !
Having nothing better to do I accepted joyfully.
The first stop was in the Hauptstrasse where he said he must
say hello to some people he knew and we went to second floor
of a house . Here lived Maria and her family. Maria was overjoyed
and pulled Dolfi into the bedroom and soon sounds of passion
filled the flat. I waited in the kitchen.
After some time Dolfi appeared and so did Maria who tried to pull him back
But as I said ,he was a strong boy.
From here we crossed the street and into Hurmusaki where lived
Olga whose husband left with the Russians 3 years ago.
She spotted Dolfi from balcony and said : "
"Come up we will have Chay and speak a little."
After 20 minutes Dolfi was back and Olga was smoking machorka on balcony.
From here we went to Bahnhofstrasse where Dolfi knew somebody
he didnt see for a long time - just to say hello.
In 30 minutes he was back .
Then we met with the Morariogass Bande who had new girls
and wanted Dolfi to have a look but Dolfi said he had no time
maybe some other day...
