Edgar,
Bridging between ? It is not even mentioned.
 Multiethnic ? Not even mentioned.
Removed from Cz history are we.
   As we never existed.
Next time if they have a conference on:
" The Jewish contribution to the culture of Cz during
    The Rumanian rule."
Any subject. Title . where the name Jewish appears.
    Otherwise it is Jewish exclusion.
      Excluded am I.

Hardy...

No doubt about, "our [main] concern and interest is the old Jewish
Czernowitz", but conferences like this one are bridging between the "old
Jewish Czernowitz" and a - hopefully - new European, multiethnic and
democratic Czernowitz, where people are acknowledging the Jewish
contribution to their culture and to the development of the city and the
region.

Have a look at the conference program and you'll find at least three - out
of six - workshops, where "the old Jewish Czernowitz" plays an important
role:

III: Cultural Heritage of the Bukovina and International Cooperation
V: Imparting History: From WW1 to Euromaidan
VI: Looking Back, Reappraising and Treating History: European, Habsburg and
Ukrainian Historical Culture [Speaker: Mykola Kuschnir, Director of the
Czernowitz Jewish Museum]

As a matter of fact, dear Hardy, it's much more than "a new Urdu convention
on Confuzius", but one thing remains true: Our "old Jewish Czernowitz" with
our relatives, their culture and their properties is irrevocably lost,
destroyed by the Romanization during the interwar period, the Holocaust and
the Soviet regime after WW2.
