I am not talking about her opinions at age 7,
but at the time she gave the interview quoted by Shelley.
When I arrived in Oradea Mare in Romania in 1945,
I was eight years old and knew only German and Yiddish.
I immediately had to learn both Romanian, the language taught at school
and Hungarian, the language spoken by all the other children.
Not then, nor later, did I feel sorry for myself because
for a few days I could not communicate with the teacher,
or the other children.
