Her name was not Lubba, she was called Lucca,
even though her name was Rachel.
As a small child, in Yiddish her name became Ruchale.
She could not pronounce Ruchale and said instead Luccale.
So she became known by that name.
As young child she and her family moved to Curacao
in the Dutch Antilles, which was one of the few places in the world
which gave entry visas to Jews fleeing Anti-Semitic Europe.
Quite a sizable community of Jews from Czernowitz
and neighboring towns and villages settled in Curacao.
After WW2 and the establishment of the state of Israel, Lucca settled
in Israel and eventually became an active member of the Cz. - List
