Dear all,

Last week I assisted at a very interesting Yiddish conference in Boca Raton, Florida, organized by Iosif Vaisman, our very own List member.

My pleasure at hearing great Yiddish speakers, singers , poets, etc. has been enhanced by the multiple mentions of our beloved Czernowitz, and the role it played in the Yiddish culture.

Iosif talked about “Likely and Unlikely Heroes of Jewish Czernowitz.”
Others mentioned the poet Itzik Manger, whose many songs have been performed by various singers.

We should ask Iosif to favor us with a synopsis of his talk.

Happy Thanksgiving!
