I know of Kirli Baba because of the mountain pass by the same name.
This pass is on the road from Bukovina to Maramures/Marmorosh
and my ancestors must have travelled it on their way to Czernowitz.
My parents and I made our way from the Bucovina to Transilvania
over this pass in 1945. I thought the name strange, but the scenery
is wonderful.
