There have been Czernowitz women before that time who acquired PhD.
A teacher of my mother, doamna profesor Stefanie Nussbaum, for instance, born around 1895, was the first woman in Czernowitz to acquire this degree, if I remember it correctly, in French language and literatuture.
I mean the first woman, who got a PhD from the Czernowitz university.
