Thanks for these links - I found a few of the paintings today but not the whole lot as in Christian's report!

I have prepared a ppt on the Czernowitz of my family for a meeting next month of my local cousins (we are quite a lot - sons and daughters of 6 brothers and a sister, as well as of several of their cousins), which centers on the life of our great-great grand parents born around 1840, great-grandparents, grandparents and parents, who all lived around the Judengasse (we located them in the directories of 1898-1936) and I needed pictures of the Groisse Shil in which they all prayed. Now, thanks to you and Jerome, as well as some from Yandex, I have the lot.

A very Happy and peaceful New-year (we can pray for it, at least)
