Piarne or Irrenanstalt, means House of the mad.
In 1941 it was on Franzosgasse.
Near it was German garrison of an SS regiment.
One of the inmates of the mad house was a
famous Jewish actor whose name I will not reveal.
Every morning he would come out on the balcony
and render Hitler's latest radio speech.
In perfect German with Hitlers diction and all.
German soldiers on the street jumped to attention.
Rumanian gendarmes wanted to stop this but the
SS intervened :" Do not interrupt.! Let him go on "
Big turmoil.
Later the inmates were deported.
