Does the Sanguine title refer to the Bukovina Jews only ?

The author of this dissertation is Dutch and went to the University of
Amsterdam. I think you have to take that into account when you
translate "sanguine" in the Dutch version. The dutch word is a
positive word. It could easily mean that while there was a fantasy
view of the world around them. Thus, I agree with Jerome about the
meaning of the word. Of course, I haven't read the paper yet but this
seems more reasonable.
