Karl May was mostly in jail where most of his
travel books were written.
Which makes it so extraordinary.
This does not mean that every jailbird
is a potential bestselling author !

Mimi...Karl May, not Mai. And yes,have read them all. "UFF" sagte
Winnetou,und starb. (Uff said Winnetou,and died. Last line.volume3 of the
Winnetou story.)The most fascinating is that KM wrote about all sorts of
places very convincingly but in actual fact never travelled outside of
