Dear Chernovichany,
The older we get our roots go longer,
And deeper in search of our past,
    Our longing has no end,
      Any splinter of additional stuff
       feeds these roots ,
        Looking for ourselves
When we were young and beautiful
           and miserable
And our life wasn’t worth a penny
or a ban or a kopeka,

Hardy

Dear fellow Czernowitzers,

I read the 11 pages included in the Ehpes blog, as suggested by Edgar
Hauster. The article written by Asya Vaisman is really very interesting.
Until 1940, I heard about Sidi Tal, but very vaguely only. I did not know
that she continued performing in the Soviet Union and especially in
Chernovtsy, until her death in 1983. I strongly recommend it to all our
Cz.List members to read it. It is a very important description of our
cultural past.
All the best,
Abraham K.

Just in case someone has difficulties seeing 'Tunuri La Portile Bucovinei':
The link given by Edgar Hauser opened for me OK using the Chrome browser and
after that clicking on the download icon on the far upper left.
The original PDF document by Paul Brascanu will then be displayed.

Thanks, Henry
